About Jaipur

The capital of Rajasthan, built proudly by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II is famous for its majestic forts, opulent Havelis, beautiful lakes, and dunes. Jaipur is part of the famous Golden Triangle Tourist circuit that includes Delhi and Agra. But Jaipur is not only endowed with wonderful tourist attractions but the city also has an excellent infrastructure to support the tourism. Jaipur has some of India’s best hotels, which compliments the scenic and architectural beauty of the Pink City.
The historic walled city of Jaipur, was founded in 1727 A.D. by the Rajput ruler Sawai Jai Singh of Kacchawah dynasty. The city is roughly divided into nine rectangular sectors with straight roads intersecting only at right angles and is enclosed within massive wall to protect the city in a total area of 709 hectares.

The wall encircles the city and 9 city gates are present to provide the access to the city from various directions. Several iconic monuments and temples are housed within this walled city area with two main North South axes crossing to form 3 main pubic squares (Badi Chaupar, Choti Chaupar and a 3rd one Ramganj Chaupar extending on the eastern side) on the East West axes that define the overall grid iron city plan. It has a total of 12 main bazaar areas across the main axial streets.
The design of the new city was a breath taking departure from the prevalent practices in city development in the sub-continent. Its urban morphology reflected the coming together of cultural elements from eastern and western planning, expressing a culture of a ‘trade and commerce city’ and townscape that is unparalleled anywhere in South Asia.
Envisaged as a trade capital, the main avenues of the city are designed as markets, which remain characteristic bazaars of the city till date. Chaupar, or designed large public squares at the intersection of roads, is another feature that is distinct to Jaipur as are its single to multicourt havelis and haveli temples.
Besides an exemplary planning, its iconic monuments such as the Govind Dev temple, City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal excel in artistic and architectural craftsmanship of the period. Jaipur is an expression of the

astronomical skills, living traditions, unique urban form and exemplary foresighted city planning of an 18th century city from India.

Jaipur is considered one of the most prolific examples of a planned city, it exemplifies approaches to city planning, sustainability and spatial manifestation of the social fabric through architecture. The lessons that can be learned by understanding this place are deep rooted in its context and are beautiful. Each place has lessons that can teach us about the importance of foresight, planning and mindful use of resources. An effort should be made to make it an inherent part of education and moreover an integral part of design education.

The newly prominent architectural buildings of Jaipur are a blend of advanced technology and exquisite design with a touch of traditional art. World Trade Park of Jaipur is a world-class infrastructure designed by renowned architects who have several architectural wonders in his account like the world’s biggest pillar-less rooftop (Sabha Mandap of Govind Devji Temple, which is notified by The Guinness Book of Records), first revolving tower of Rajasthan and many more. The Satsang hall within the Govind Devji’s Temple has a reinforced concrete cement flat roof with a simple soan of 119 ft.
With people from all over the country going to Jaipur for studies, today it has become an education hub also. If you are searching for a good education, then there cannot be a place better than Jaipur. A place where there is no political disturbance, no goons to threaten you here and there, a place to give you a busy life when you need it, a place which would give you the country’s heritage to enjoy any time you need, a place which would give you the mountains and the lakes for a relaxing tour, and the most comfortable evening for studies.

Within the context of formal education, the Art and design as a subject on the curriculum supports personal, social, moral, spiritual, cultural, and creative development, and enables participants to engage with and explore visual, tactile, and other sensory experiences and how to recognize and communicate ideas and meanings. These opportunities enable them to work with traditional and new media so that they develop confidence, competence, imagination, and creativity. Through these opportunities, they learn to appreciate and value images and artifacts across times and cultures, and to understand the contexts in which they were made. A fine arts education—be it in music, theatre, dance, creative writing, visual arts, or art history and visual studies—is not always an easy sell. The social utility and financial feasibility of the arts are often underrated. Innovation and adaptability are essential components of any fine arts education.

Experiences in art, craft, and design enable them to learn how to reflect critically on their own and others’ work. They learn to think and act as artists, makers, and designers, working creatively and intelligently. They develop an appreciation of and engagement in art, craft, and design as critical consumers and audiences and an understanding of its role in the creative and cultural industries that shape and enrich their lives.

There are abundant government and private universities present in Jaipur which focusses on the School of Architecture and design. Arch College of Design & Business. INIFD Jaipur, Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery Jaipur, Indian Institute of Crafts & Design, IIFA INDIA are some of the best examples. As per the latest update among top colleges, the second-best private institute; Pearl Academy Jaipur for Fashion Design is recognized by India Today for the past three consecutive years. October 8 is celebrated as the Air Force Day because on this day, the Air Force in India was officially raised in 1932 as the supporting force of the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom. The first operational squadron came into being in April 1933. After participation in World War II, the Air Force in India came to be called the Royal Indian Air Force in the mid 1940s. In 1950, after the republic came into being it became the Indian Air Force. From six officers and 19 Hawai Sepoys back in 1933, the Air Force now is the fourth largest in the world.

For several decades until 2005-06, the Air Force Day used to be marked by the main event, parade and flypast at Palam. But due to the increasing air traffic issues, it was shifted to Hindon Air Force Base in Ghaziabad which is home to two squadrons of transport aircraft and a helicopter unit among other establishments. The flypasts and displays on the occasion have traditionally showcased the in service aircraft and systems of the Air Force. “Its a day to pay tribute to countless sacrifices made by air warriors in not just in safeguarding the skies but also in numerous humanitarian aid and disaster relief operations taken up till now and in the days to come.”

One of the deepest and noblest of human emotions…
The Bond of Love between a brother and a sister …
One of the most important festival of our human culture is Rakshabandhan.
This rakhi is made with white and golden pearls. And is presented along with red tilak and chawal and chocolates which are the essentials for the rakhi occasion. And Yess for omen(Shagun) we keep envelopes which is considered as a good sign for blessing.
Happy Rakshabandhan!
By Sakshi Mantri
Maroon and white denotes purity and peace . So on this auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan I want to promise my brother that their will always be purity and peace between Us. I will always stand by your side. Sending you all my love on this special day ! Happy Raksha Bandhan.
-Regards Riya.
I am a girl and I made this rakhi for my elder sister using ribbon, clay, some old beads and stickers because at our family we don’t believe that it is only a brother’s job to ‘protect’ his sister. Rakha bandhan is a bond of love and whether it be brothers or sisters they can all protect and care for each – other alike.
I have used threads , some golden Pearl’s , some small silver stones , scissor and fevicol in this rakhi to symbolize that our bond always remains strong like threads that binds two souls in a bond of joy forever shine like pearls and unbreakable like stone…..
Wish My Brother A Very
Happy Raksha Bandhan
I have used threads , some golden Pearl’s , some small silver stones , scissor and fevicol in this rakhi to symbolize that our bond always remains strong like threads that binds two souls in a bond of joy forever shine like pearls and unbreakable like stone…..

Raksha Bandhan is celebrated throughout the country to celebrate this pure bond between siblings. Here in Pahal Design Institute we’ve got the opportunity to participate in this Rakhi competition and I’ve made this colourful Rakhi with a ribbon, used craft paper, old bindis and craft material leaves along with diamond shaped mirror with lots of efforts and love for my brother who absolutely loved seeing it on his wrist. Though we always fight like cats and dogs, keep teasing each other but he’s always been my partner in crime, and my best friend when it comes to convincing our parents or listening to each other’s nonsense stuff. This dramatic, colourful and glowing Rakhi perfectly describes the unique relationship shared by me n my bhai. Name:- ishika arora

My brother is a biker and he is extremely fond of leather products so I made a leather rakhi for him using vegan leather and pearls. I took a contemporary view on traditional rakhis and keeping in mind the Hindu festival used 100% vegan leather.
I made this rakhi, with the help of matchsticks, to give a floral design, and as we all know that that in Hindu’s festives for showing goodness and purity red and yellow colour is used, so taking this concept i also made the red and yellow furry decorating material with the help of threads, which highlights my rakhi and I used oxidised little pearls and last but not least in the centre i use a beautiful reflective stone.
HAPPY RAKSHABANDHAN.
My sister is my role model and she is always there for me, motivates me to do better in life and fulfills all the responsibilities of a brother. She is my sister as well as my brother. My sister’s favourite color is green so i made her a green colored raakhi using green threads, some stones and beautiful white pearls. I used the things which were already available here at my home to celebrate our “lockdown wala rakhi”
Ye Lamhaa Kuch Khaas Hai,pandemic ka time start hai ,
Sister Ke Haathon Me Brother Ka Haath Hai, with hand made rakhi !!
I have made this rakhi by the help of mould it clay , nd used Jewellry wires to make hooks ! I have applied mod podge to make it waterproof . The embroidery work is done by self made ceremic tubes ! I was made lotus on the rakhi as lotus is the symbol of purity , symbol of divine perfection , also most liked by goddess lami who shower blessing for good Heath nd prosperity! All the bright colors are been used to symbolise “shine bright “ even when surrounding are dark nd dull ! 🙂🙂😇😇
Maroon and white denotes purity and peace . So on this auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan I want to promise my brother that their will always be purity and peace between Us. I will always stand by your side. Sending you all my love on this special day ! Happy Raksha Bandhan.

My Rakhi represents Corona as we all can’t stop thinking about it. As this pandemic has shutdown everything around us. But one positive outcome we can say is that it gives us a lot of family time together…
So this Rakhi I wish all of us to be strong, healthy and safe.
Astha
I have used pearls in this rakhi to symbolise that our bond always remains strong and unbreakable and we stay together just like these beautiful pearls. Understanding between me and my bro remains as clear as these pearls

I made this rakhi for my sister… being a fashion design aspirant, she always appreciate the hand woven tradition of the Indian culture..I used embroidery thread and wool and beautifully weaved intricate crotchet flower.. Being amidst the bounty Mother Nature, I’m greatly influenced.. So therefore made the rakhi’s band of green and yellow colour, representing the birth and senescence of the leaves. This rakhi is the symbolism of the ebbing Indian tradition and the Mother Nature…. Srishti Lahiri
Raksha Bandhan also called rakhi ,is the Hindu festival that celebrates brotherhood and love . The word Raksha means protection ,whilst bandhan means tie .
In our culture it is believed that when a women ties a rakhi around the hand of man it becomes obligatory for him to honour his religious duty and also protect her .
Rakhi is the symbol of love and prosperity
To the butterfly of my life, my sister. Not only does she bring light and happiness in my life but also motivates me everyday to grow and shine.

This year because of the pandemic,I could not tie rakhi to my brother but it didn’t stop me from celebrating the festival. I tied rakhi to my sister and celebrated the festival because it’s not about a brother protecting his sister but about siblings protecting each other and being there for each other always!
The rakhi is made from wool, earbuds and decorated with sequence. Student name:- abhiniti srivastava

Rakhi is a festival of the bond shared by brother and sister. For my brother, I made a Rakhi in a shape of elephant, stuck wool, and decorated it with colours ,stones and glitter. Also, little bows out of cloth has been attached to it. ❤️🌈

I used a waste scrap paper on which the stones of different colours and shapes are sticking and then take a thread and stick it on the backside so that it can gave the shape of Rakhi.I made this rakhi from
those waste materials that I found in my home.I did my best efforts to make this rakhi more impressive .
Thankyou..🙂🙂
My brother is an artist and he is extremely interested in drawing and colouring. He is fond of using colourful products so, I thought to make colourful rakhi using pearis and colourful threads which shows his emotions such as….. Red which means love , Orange shows his confidence, Yellow shows his creativity, Blue shows that he is responsible, trusting, and peaceful , Maroon shows his strength and Purple shows he is noble
Since my sister is the only sibling I have…I have made this for my sister, with whole heart and unlimited love.
So the rakhi is made up of yellow and red thread, mauli, which is considered very sacred for Hindus. It’s believed that this thread protects us. The base is made of raw red net available at home.It has five petals at the back and 3 at front which when summed makes her b’day month 5+3=8 and the three(silver) hidden behind the front petals(blue) when further added makes my b’day month 5+3+3= 11;she being elder protects me most of the times . Then there is a pom pom that adds to the beauty of rakhi.

I made this rakhi using matchsticks. Each head of matchstick represents each state of india and there are group of 3 matchsticks, total 8 in number which represents the 8 union territories and also I used yellow colour which represents relationship of happiness and green colour which represents health which we wish for everyone. Also it is comfortable to wear as the base of this rakhi is made up of soft cloth so that it wont hurt.

In Indian tradition, the frangible thread of rakhi is considered even stronger than an iron chain as it strongly binds a brothers and a sisters in the circumference of mutual love and trust. And my brother is younger than me so here a cute smile for him.❤️
Shrestha Ranchi
Not only a brother but a sister also protects the sister….❤
I have made Lord Ganesha in the centre of the rakhi to give our relation a new start where we create a lot of good new memories as Lord Ganesha is worshipped before beginning of every puja so that everything remains smooth. And I have used different other colors to symbolise that relation b/w me and and my sister remains colorful and full of good vibes.
राखी कर देती है सभी गीले शिकवे दूर इतनी ताकतवर होती है कच्चे धागे की पावन डोर…i made this rakhi usking a ribbon and flowers. Also i used pink colour as it represents love and happiness and a pearl as it symbolises long life; it is snug to wear as the base is made up of soft ribbon.

Hello!
Ananta Vyas here,
And this is my entry for the rakhi making competition.
My rakhi is flower themed, the concentric blooming flowers represent the love between me and my sister, that like a flower would grow stronger, sweeter with each passing year. My rakhi is made using different paper folding techniques. Also, since i am aspiring to be a designer, i wanted to add a little innovative twist to my rakhi, therefore it is not just a rakhi but also like a little card, that opens and has my sister’s picture and a little note that i wrote for her.
Wishing everyone a happy and safe rakshabandhan! ✨
Thank you.
made this plate with glitter paper and left it on it, then I applied the lamp to the lamp and then I used glitter paper and cardboard to roll it and I ready it

About NATA 2020

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is being conducted by COA since 2006, in terms of the provisions of CoA (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 1983, published in the Gazette of India. It is implied that a separate aptitude test in Architecture should be conducted and such test should not be combined with the tests for admissions to Engineering, Pharmacy, Medicine and other disciplines. Being the competent authority for fixing the norms and standards for architectural institutions, COA has the necessary expertise to hold a Common Aptitude Test in Architecture, at national level to provide a single window system for appearing in aptitude test and to facilitate institutions, students and public at large for admission to First year of 5 year B.Arch. Degree Course at all recognized Institutions all over country. The purpose of conducting NATA is to provide a single scheme of examination for holding aptitude test and to facilitate prospective students all over the country to apply for admissions in architecture seats in institutions spread across the country and to avoid appearing in multiple aptitude tests. However, the actual admissions shall be carried out only by the concerned competent authorities of the respective states/institutions based on valid NATA score. The NATA also ensures that the eligibility criteria for admission to five-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree course, as prescribed by CoA and duly approved by the Central Government, are strictly adhered to and followed all over the country in Architectural Institutions.

In view of the prevalent situation arising out of Corona Virus Pandemic (COVID-19) and consequent directives of the Government of India for ensuring public health related social distancing and other measures, the Council of Architecture, has decided to conduct both Parts A (Cognitive skills for Drawing and Visual Composition Test) and B (Test on Scientific Ability & General Aptitude) of NATA as a comprehensive online aptitude test The candidate has the option to appear for comprehensive online test of NATA 2020 either from their respective place of residence/stay or at the Council allotted centres in case they do not have internet connectivity or technical/ hardware resources such as laptop/PC, web cam/ microphone etc. The candidates will soon be provided an option in their respective login accounts to opt for their preference for place of examination for NATA 2020.

Part-A Test (Cognitive skills for Drawing and Visual Composition Test), due to exceptional circumstances, has been redevised as a preferential/multiple choice type test to be answered on PC/laptop. The syllabus for Part-A Drawing Test accordingly has been revised as Cognitive Skills for Drawing and Visual Composition Test and is specified in the brochure. This substitutes the Paper based test for this year.

NATA measures the aptitude of the applicant for specific field of study, i.e. Architecture. The test makes an assessment of cognitive skills required for drawing and composition observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level and critical thinking ability that have been acquired by the candidate over the past few years and are related to the specific field of study.

NATA plays an important role in selecting candidates having necessary aptitude to become competent architects to serve the society and to build the nation in coming decades, especially in view of the Govt. of India mission of Smart Cities, Housing for All and Green and Energy efficient Buildings.

With the objective of attracting a greater number of bright aspirants for studying Architecture and practicing the same as a profession in future, Council like every year will be conducting NATA-2020 for admission to B.Arch. in the academic session 2020-2021. NATA-2020 shall be conducted twice a year, thus giving opportunity to those students who miss out the first test due to some reason or other or wish to improve upon their NATA score in the first test by re-appearing the second test. Both the first and second test will be conducted on different dates as totally computer-based examinations all over the country.

The test shall consist of two parts, both to be answered on a PC/Laptop – Part-A tests Cognitive skills required for drawing and visual composition and Part-B (Scientific ability and General Aptitude) comprises Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and general aptitude. This total computer-based examination has been devised for this year alone in view of the current COVID situation and to enable candidates to take the test preferably at their place of residence/ stay or by their choice at a Test center allotted by the Council.

Schedule of Examination

Examination shall be conducted in two sessions on the date of the first test and depending on the number of candidates registering for the second date of the test, it will be decided whether there will be one or two sessions. While the candidates will be given the choice of the two sessions on date 1 of the test on a first come first basis, the candidates opting for taking the test from Council allotted test centres shall be allocated only to the second session.
