NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology – 1986 established) is for Design, Management and Technology related courses which is under ministry of Textiles. A student who has applied for NIFT Master’s Program is confused about the MFM/MFtech/M.Des courses. This confusion is because students having different academic background and they feel themselves new to Fashion and Design Industry. NIFT GD-PI comprises of 30% weightage which is equally divided 15% for both the sections i.e. 15% for GD and 15% for PI. GD_PI is a important stage for deciding the all India rank of students.

NIFT LAST MINUTE 10 TIPS & TRICKS

CAT (Creative Ability Test)

  1. Examination Pouch: Your Examination Pouch must have HB and clutch pencils with new Eraser and Sharpener .Use good quality colour pencil.
  2. Fill the required details of your question paper as soon as you get your CAT paper
  3. Read the questions very carefully before beginning the paper.
  4. Plan your ideas in advance and start with light sketching.
  5. Be creative with your ideas but keep it original and simple within exam time is equally important.
  6. After completing your light sketch, attempt the colour mood questions and while colouring try to think about the details which is required for rest questions.
  7. Avoid the use of eraser now and then
  8. Save half an hour in order to give final touch to your drawing
  9. Always write the caption at the end so that your idea stays with you and no one can copy it.
  10. Do not forget to wear your smile and confidence while entering the examination hall.

GAT (General Ability Test)

  1. Time Management is the key to success so plan your strategy accordingly.
  2. NIFT changed the NIFT 2017 test paper and now instead of 150 questions Design aspirants are going to face 100 questions in B. Design (Quantitative Aptitude- 20 Questions, Communication Ability – 25 Questions, English Comprehension – 25 Questions, Analytical Ability – 15 Questions, General Knowledge and Current Affairs – 15 Questions) and 120 questions in M. Design (Quantitative Aptitude- 20 Questions, Communication Ability – 30 Questions, English Comprehension – 30 Questions, Analytical Ability – 25 Questions, General Knowledge and Current Affairs – 15 Questions) but rest MFM/B.Ftech/M.Ftech has same number of questions 150.
  3. Be ready for surprises in your NIFT GAT paper.
  4. Maximise your attempt with accuracy and attempt easiest questions as every question has the same weightage.
  5. Tips for Comprehension: Try to give two readings to your passage. In the first attempt you get the general idea which will take 2-3 minutes and with this you will be able to solve explicit questions. For implicit questions you will require second reading which will be little slow and needs more attention.
  6. In logical reasoning section try to attempt those topics where you are more comfortable move from simple to complex topics
  7. Keep your fundamental strong and adhere to basic rules.
  8. Save 15 minutes to go through your answer sheet again in order to avoid human error and check the OMR sheet.
  9. Don’t waste your time on a single question more than 2 minutes.
  10. This is the time to maintain your cool, remain relaxed, utilize the night to revise whatever you have studied and learned but not begin anything new.

Every year from Pahal Design many of our student qualifies for NATA with more than 120 score and get into Top architecture colleges. This year NATA has changed the exam Pattern and many of the questions has been asked from quantitative Aptitude as well as from words also.If student applies multiple times for NATA then out of the best NATA score will be considered by default and maximum 5 times in 2 years one can apply.NATA

After 1 month of NIFT written exam, NIFT has announced their 1st Phase result and this was first time they had announced so early their result of written exam. For General qualifying marks was 47.2 and OBC 36.2 out of 80 marks. This year the cutoff was much higher than last year cutoff marks because of no negative marks and more number of applicants applied this year NIFT 2016 comparatively last year 2015.

Being NIFT 2016 Entrance aspirants, you need to know the below three points for NIFT Situation Test 2016.

  1. NIFT Situation Test Date: NIFT Situation Test 2016 will be held on different dates i.e. 15 to 20 April 2016 (expected) at NIFT campuses as per NIFT Rank & Categories. NIFT Situation Test is conducted for all those candidates who have qualified NIFT 1st Phase written exam, which was held in the month of Feb 2016. Almost 50,000 students appeared for NIFT exam across India for admission in 16 NIFT colleges.
  2. About NIFT Situation Test 2016:  NIFT Situation Test has weightage of 20% and which are 20 marks of 100 marks and total time allotted for this exam is 2 hours in that students have to design 3D model with creative write up and all the materials used will be given by the NIFT in one packet. Most of the time NIFT give students waste material to use for 3D model. NIFT conduct this exam at their respective centres. Through NIFT Situation Test, NIFT observe which candidate has ability to use of material with their aesthetic value according to the given theme or topic in exam. This is important phase for deciding the all India Rank of any candidate. NIFT assess the creative ability in the student through this exam.
  3.
