NIFT 2025 Personal Interview (MFM, MDES & MFTECH ) Dates ,Syllabus & Previous Year Questions

NTA (National Testing Agencies) has recently released  the provisional answer keys for NIFT first round of GAT paper which was held on 9^th Feb 2025  , it helped candidates of MFM,MDES and MFTECH  to analyse their first round and plan their second round of the exam in most effective way .

The weightage assigned to each round of exam in the final merit list of the entrance exam will be as follows :

The second  & final stage of admission process for M.F.M ,M.DES and M.F.Tech Candidates includes a Personal Interview which carries the weightage of 30% ,it is quite crucial and becomes the determining factor in not only meeting the cut- off but also securing one’s seats in top campuses of NIFT . NIFT is expected to release the first round of results for master’s programs by the end of third week of March 2025 and PI around will start in April 2025.

The Personal Interview round will take place offline, with a face-to-face interaction with an expert panel. There will be 5-6 panels, with candidates assigned to one based on their roll number. Each panel will consist of two to four people who will evaluate selected candidates based on various criteria relevant to the applied course. The interview can last between 15 and 25 minutes, depending on how the discussion flows with the expert panel.

Tips for Personal Interview Round

Familiarize Yourself with the Format

Try to grasp the nature of Personal Interviews and the subjects that should be addressed to prepare for this phase adequately.

Stay Updated

Remain informed about the current social events &  latest fashion trends, textile industry development, and NIFT’s program and course curriculum. Acquaint yourself with NIFT’s core values and its recent initiatives.

Practice Personal Interviews and work on Feedback

It is always good to attend a few mock interviews before attending the final stage of NIFT PI . This will help you get an idea of what questions can be asked in the actual interview according to your background. Also, constructive feedback from mentors will help you work on your answers and prepare well for your final day .

Body language & Communication

Maintain a positive body language , eye contact and clear Communication. Try to be calm and listen actively; in case you don’t know the answer, you can clearly mention it rather than beating around the bush .As they don’t expect you to know all the answers, but they will judge you on how you handled it and interacted with the Panel.

Dress Code

It is better to wear attire that is comfortable and reflects your professionalism. Hence, try to opt for the formal dress code for the Personal Interview round. Finally, being shortlisted in the PI round indicates your hard work has paid off, but don’t let your guard down because you are very close to getting into your dream college.
