LISAA School of Design – Faculty members

LAURENT GUICHOUX (Education Director)
Laurent Guichoux is French. His career traverses the worlds of art, Fashion and Business Management. He started his career as an Art teacher and painter in France, after a Masters degree from the Fine Art Academy in Rennes in France. He graduated in Fashion Marketing and management from the reputed French Fashion Institute (IFM) chaired by Pierre Berger founder of Yves St Laurent. Laurent Guichoux now shares his time between France and India.
HOBHA PARASHER (Head of School)
Shobha Parasher is an architect and an interior designer having over 30 years of professional as well as academic experience. After receiving her architecture degree from M S University, Baroda, Gujarat, she worked with Charles Correa in Mumbai. She then headed the architecture department at Government Polytechnic for Women, Chandigarh. She also worked for ten years in London at Deveourx and partners, Boreham Son & Wallace architects. After her return to India, she practiced professionally and taught Interior Architecture at the polytechnics. She has about 35 years of professional and teaching experience. From 2004 to 2007 she was the founder dean of IILM School of Design. She is also actively involved in philanthropic work for small children in village Rampur, district Sohna.
HORA
Hora is a french visual artist working in France and India. Before completing a Fine Art master degree, she used to be a graphic designer.
As a visual artist using mixed medias like video, sculpture, painting, photography or writing, she has a rather conceptual and minimal approach in art, where both form and sense are equally giving strength and efficiency to a piece. Since 2009, she has regularly come to India, especially to Delhi where she had an exhibition at the Alliance Franchise during “Bonjour India” festival. Since then, after several artist residencies in Delhi and the creation of her own studio in the south of Paris, she is now collaborating on different artistic projects involving interactions between the two countries.
BIPLAB
Biplab graduated in Art from the Kolkata College of Arts. After graduation he has worked on a variety of art works. He is indeed a multi-faceted person and his works include films, Interiors, exterior facades, art direction, documentation, photography etc. He has also been teaching at various schools in Kolkata and Delhi. .
SURAJ WADHWA
Suraj is graphic designer with Outlook Magazine. Creating designs with an out of the box thinking has always been his forte. He has worked in both fields of Web and Print Design.
SEEMA SRIVASTAVA
Seema Srivastava is an art historian, cultural theorist, teacher and a designer. She has been passionately involved with the world of art for more than two decades. Qualified with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, a Master’s Degree in History of Art and an M.Phil in Indian Arts, Crafts and Aesthetics, she has a professional experience of 24 years. She has been teaching Art in the College of Art, University of Delhi, the National Museum as well as other premier design institutes.
She has presented a range of academic papers and lectures on diverse aspects of the arts.
She also conducts heritage walks, museum visits, craft experiences in and around Delhi for art and culture enthusiasts.
ARNAUD DAMIEN BRACHET
Product Designer and Interior Designer, born in Bordeaux, FRANCE.
Arnaud has always been passionate about design so it was natural for him to choose to study Design. He graduated from Paris in industrial design. In 2009 he was hired by a design studio in Delhi to work for them.
For the last three years he has been working as an independent global designer for both Indian and European clients. His professional experience, from Paris to Delhi with a short break in Tokyo made him realize that he wanted to become a designer. He has been designing furniture for luxury brands, creating point of sale elements for international brands like Maybelline and even designing store windows, logos, sunglasses and packaging for various brands.
ANNABEL SCHENCK
Annabel Schenck graduated from the Ecole Supérieure Estienne in Paris and the Ecole Supérieure des Arts décoratifs in Strasbourg. She was trained in Fine Arts and Applied arts. Very early she developed her own personal approach on volumes, tackling a varied range of materials and media in sculpture, object books, engravings and installations. She used the textual and the visual together in her object books. Her passion for printing process further took her to the University of Kala Bhavan (Santiniketan). Her work establishes a continuous interaction between life and art, reality and the uncanny, the human element and landscape.
She published an artist’s book with the Editions of Esad and exhibited her visual work several times in Europe and in India.
GURMEET SINGH
Gurmeet Singh is an architect and a product designer. He has 12 years of experience in product / automotive, crafts, exhibition, furniture and structure design. He has worked with Harita Seating Systems, Minda Industries (Switches, Locks and Automotive Lighting Systems), Ultra Motors a concept electric motorbike, High Mount stop lamp for Maruti, Ergonomic low cost Driver Seat for buses and trucks, NGK Spark Plug, Hundai Auto Expo Show, etc… He has been working with the core team designing the Khalsa museum commissioned by the Punjab Government. He has worked with S J design Pvt Ltd. on various events, ranging from music festival, parties and product launch events like Swarovski, midnight summer and the big chill UK. He has worked for (NMBA) National Mission On Bamboo Application on various bamboo structures and exhibitions etc..
STEPHEN NOEL
Stefen studied Art History at la Sorbonne University in Paris for two years and Interior & furniture design at Camondo School of Design & Architecture in Paris for 5 years. She worked for various architecture agencies, specializing in space planning design (Andersen Consulting, Bank of Argentina..), hotel design (IBIS, Accor group), Shop design (Brumell, Printemps).
As a graphic designer, she was hired by Publicis Group to work on websites virtual architecture for big accounts, among which DELL, L’OREAL and Rihiveli Beach Resort.
She worked on movies like “Julie chevalier de Maupin”, “La reine et le cardinal” (the queen and the cardinal), le scaphandre et le Papillion” (“the diving bell and the butterfly”, directed by Julian SHNABEL), “Arthur et les minimoys” (“Arthur and the minimoys”) and “Bandidas”
RAJAT JAIN
Rajat Jain graduated from NIFT, Gandhinagar in 2007. He founded Somersault design studio in 2011 after extensive work with Ogaan , Morphe by Amit Aggarwal and R&B International Pvt. Ltd. He is a trained fashion specialist for high fashion women’s wear under the guidance of European designers like Kenzo, Dries Van Noten, Dries Van Noten, Isabel Marrant etc.
Rajat is involved in consulting couturiers in Europe and US along with the in-house label of Bombay Electric.
CHIRANJEEV KUMAR
Chiranjeev has graduated from NIFT, Kolkata, in 2004. There he received an award for the men’s wear collection.
He went on to work with fashion designer, Manish Arora. He was initially appointed as a men’s wear designer but eventually started working on women’s wear collection SSo5, it was a huge success and a turning point in his career. He presented his collection at London Fashion Week, for four seasons in a row, did Fashion in Motion at V & A museum, London, moved to Paris Fashion Week and presented his collection for 7 seasons in a row. He launched his own ready to wear line called Chiri by Chiranjeev in 2011, displaying his ever-present penchant for technique and craftsmanship.
S. VAID
She is a post graduation from National Institute of Design and has work experience of all most 11 years. She worked with Springs industries, where she was working closely with product development team from US. She specializes in conceptualizing / visualizing unique objects made by hand She has done research on woven structures and materials She has strong hold on trends and color forecast.
