I used pencil husks for making this rakhi….it is the most available, easy and costless handmade rakhi but it worth endless love and priceless protection. Raksha bandhan is not only a festival of brother and sister but a promise ,while i was knotting this rakhi to my brother’s hand he promised me that he’ll be with me always and be supportive at any situation whether it’s a good or worst and he wanted me to see whatever I wanted to be in my life by Shivani

Through this rakhi I have tried to potray the culture of Bengal where in Bengalis celebrate Raksha bandhan as jhulon purnima in which they tie rakhi in the hands of Lord krishna’s idol and worship Lord krishna on that occasion by Oishi

    Hello!
    Ananta Vyas here,
And this is my entry for the rakhi making competition.
My rakhi is flower themed, the concentric blooming flowers represent the love between me and my sister, that like a flower would grow stronger, sweeter with each passing year. My rakhi is made using different paper folding techniques. Also, since i am aspiring to be a designer, i wanted to add a little innovative twist to my rakhi, therefore it is not just a rakhi but also like a little card, that opens and has my sister’s picture and a little note that i wrote for her.

My brother is a biker and he is extremely fond of leather products so I made a leather rakhi for him using vegan leather and pearls. I took a contemporary view on traditional rakhis and keeping in mind the Hindu festival used 100% vegan leather by Samriddhi

    7th Consolation Prize : Harshita

My Rakhi is made from cotton used from Ear Buds, decorative buttons taken from suit and saree of my mother. The Red colour in Rakhi symbolises Love and Yellow colour symbolises Happiness and hope. So this Rakhi wishing everyone lots of love and happiness.. Apeksha Nagda
