Founded in 1997, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) is a group that prides itself for its commitment to excellence in learning and innovation. The School of Design at Manav Rachna, launched in collaboration with Algonquin College (Canada) in 2002, has grown into a vibrant center for design education. Offering a unique combination of creativity and practical expertise, the four year B.Design program provides five specialized pathways to help you master the art and science of design: 

• Fashion Design: Set new standards in style and garment creation.
• Product Design: Craft innovative, user-centric products that make an impact.
• Communication Design: Develop captivating visual stories that resonate.
• Interior & Spatial Design: Reimagine spaces with artistic precision and functionality.
• Animation & VFX Design: Build immersive worlds through the latest tools and techniques.

Awards

At MRIIRS, students from the School of Design have consistently demonstrated their creativity and talent by participating in prestigious competitions. In 2023, they showcased their innovative ideas at the Society Interiors Design Competition & Awards, and continued their streak of excellence by competing in the same event in 2024. Additionally, they made a strong impression at the Design Fest – Furniture Design Competition in 2024, where their work reflected a perfect blend of functionality and aesthetics. These achievements highlight the institution’s commitment to nurturing design excellence and providing platforms for students to gain recognition and experience in the competitive design landscape.

Eligibility Criteria

• Higher Secondary or 12th Grade(10+2) completed/passed with an average of min 60%, from any discipline (Science, Art, Commerce, Humanities, etc.)
• Candidates appearing for Higher Secondary or 12th Grade(10+2) may also apply. However, to qualify for admissions, clearing 12th grade with a minimum 50% average in 5 subjects with English as a compulsory inclusion, is mandatory.
• Must possess a completed portfolio showcasing original and relevant creative work.

Merit preparation / short listing of candidates shall be on the basis of score in MRDT 2025/ CUET 2025/ UCEED/ NIFT

Fee: ₹2,95,400 per annum

The Manav Rachna Design Aptitude Test (MRDT) 2025

The MRDT is an entrance exam designed for students seeking admission to undergraduate design programs. The test assesses the candidate’s creative aptitude, analytical thinking, observational skills, and problem-solving abilities across various design disciplines.

MRDT 2025 is divided into 4 parts:

1. Online Examination (3 hours, no negative marking)
   1. Part A – Multiple Choice Questions
      1. 1 hour
      2. 25 Questions
      3. 50 Marks
      4. Evaluates design tools and methods, logical patterns & sequences, visual-spatial reasoning, geometry, problem solving
   2. Part B – Drawing & Skill Based questions
      1. 1 hour
      2. 2 Questions
      3. 25 Marks
      4. Tests observational skills, quick thinking, creativity, problem solving & visualization
2. Portfolio Presentation – showcase achievements, previous design or other work that demonstrates originality, technical skills, creative thought processes.
3. Personal Interview – to map creative approaches, knowledge of design and professional aspirations.

• Submit the necessary documents.
• Make an online payment of INR 1200.

Upon receipt of the online application form, you will receive an acknowledgement mail to your registered email address. Within 1 week of receiving the application form, you will be notified about the next steps of entrance examinations.
