NID (National Institute of Design) is India's most prestigious design institution, founded in 1961 in Ahmedabad. The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) is a two-stage exam testing visual thinking, drawing, and design sensibility. With campuses now across India, NID offers programmes in industrial, communication, textile, and digital design. Pahal Design's NID program goes beyond sketching — it trains students in design thinking, material awareness, and interview confidence.
India's Most Trusted
Design Entrance Institute
Pahal Design Institute has been the country's go-to destination for students aspiring to crack India's most competitive design and architecture entrances. For over 18 years, Pahal has trained thousands of students who now design the products, spaces, fashion, and experiences that define contemporary India.
Our philosophy is simple: design thinking cannot be faked. Every student who walks through our doors — or joins us online — goes through a rigorous process of observation, drawing, and critical thinking. We don't just teach exam tricks; we build real design sensibility that serves students not just through the exam, but through their entire careers.
From NIFT's creative ability test to UCEED's abstract spatial reasoning, from NATA's architectural drawing to CEED's industrial design briefs — Pahal's faculty comprises working designers and educators who know each exam from the inside out. Our test series, portfolio reviews, and mock interviews are benchmarked against real exam difficulty.
