NID (National Institute of Design) is India's most prestigious design institution, founded in 1961 in Ahmedabad. The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) is a two-stage exam testing visual thinking, drawing, and design sensibility. With campuses now across India, NID offers programmes in industrial, communication, textile, and digital design.
