    nata 2016 examNATA 2016 is being conducted by the Council of Architecture, at national level to provide a single window system for appearing in aptitude test for admission to First year of 5 year B. Arch degree course at all recognized institutes across India.

    NATA – National Aptitude Test in Architecture measures the:

    1. Aptitude and Architectural awareness
    2. Drawing and Observation skills
    3. Sense of Proportion, Scale and Perspective
    4. Critical thinking ability
    5. Ability to Pencil sketch and draw themes on day to day experiences from memory
    6. 3D view and 2D view of an object

    NATA 2016 Important Dates

    • NATA 2016 registration Date: 21 Jan 2016
    • NATA Exam Start: 1st April 2016
    • NATA exam Last Date: 20th Aug 2016
    • Last Date of Online Registration: 18th Aug 2016

    Eligibility Criteria

    Any person having passed SSC (Std X) or equivalent examination and above can appear for NATA, However, only candidates who have qualified an aptitude test in Architecture and have secures 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects, shall be eligible for admission to B.Arch Course. No direct lateral admission is allowed at any year/stage of B.Arch course based on any qualification. NATA score shall be valid for a period of 2 years from the year in which one appeared.

    How to Apply

    1. NATA 2016 registration form can be submitted by paying Rs. 1250 through Online nata.in/2016
    2. Download the pre-filled registration form and procure the necessary registration
    3. Select a Test centre from NATA website.
    4. Approach the Test center for Appointment for NATA Exam.

    NATA Exam Pattern

    The test comprises in two parts:

    • Paper based drawing test
    • Computer based online aesthetic sensitivity test

    Drawing Test
    Duration: 2 Hours
    Number of Questions: 3

    Syllabus

    1. Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner.
    2. Visualizing and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast of surroundings.
    3. Sense of Perspective drawing
    4. Combining and composing given three dimensional elements to form a building or structural form.
    5. Creating interesting two dimensional compositions using given shapes and forms.
    6. Creating visual harmony using colors in given composition
    7. Understanding of scale and proportions
    8. Drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences.

    AESTHETIC SENSITIVITY TEST

    Syllabus:

    1. Visualising three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings.
    2. Visualising different sides of three dimensional objects
    3. Identifying commonly used materials and object based on their textural qualities.
    4. Analytical reasoning
    5. Mental ability
    6. Imaginative comprehension and expression
    7. Architectural awareness.
