NID (Vijayawada)

NID Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) An autonomous institute under the DIPP, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. As envisaged in the Government of India’s National Design Policy, Four new NIDs, the Vijayawada campus will begin functioning from the academic year 2015-16. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has allotted 30 acres of prime land in the Mangalagiri Town of Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh for Construction of the campus with the world class infrastructure shall take about 2 years and till then the Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) has extended its kind support to provide a Transit campus to NID Vijayawada.
 
This 4 Year intensive professional Graduate Diploma in Design (GDPD) programme is offered in the following areas of specialization at the NID Vijayawada Campus.
 
Industrial Design / Communication Design / Textile & Apparel Design
 
Projected number of seats in GDPD: 60 (Includes reserved seats for SC,ST,PH,OBC as per Government of India norms)
 
Admission is open to students who have passed or who will appear for qualifying examinations under the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalents like AISSCE/IB/ISC during the academic year 2014-15. Successful candidates shall be given admission to the academic programme, by the institute, subject to their passing the qualifying examinations.
 
Upper age limit for candidate is 20 years (relaxable by 3 years for reserved categories) as on June 1, 2015.
For General Category: The candidate born before 1^st June, 1995 are not eligible.
For Reserved Categories: The candidate born before 1^st June, 1992 are not eligible.
