School Of Design Philosophy
We thrive on different ways of thinking, rethinking, making and doing. And situated as we are in a University of entrepreneurial spirit, we find new and exciting ways to collaborate and bring ideas to fruition. Thus our emphasis is on a creative practice that combines the rigor of developing new possibilities with the means to deliver them. We encompass a broad spectrum of design realms including but not limited to fashion, design, architecture, and planning and aim to tackle concrete immediate problems, such as sustainability, with emerging and cutting-edge technologies and tools. We-faculty and students—work with hope and dabble with uncertainty to shape the world through creative action.
The creed of the institute is “learning by doing,” a hands-on technique where we work with craftsmen, weavers, brick layers, robotic arms, laser cutters and 3D printers to find viable new solutions. As such, we outline the most radical and new emerging issues and passionately immerse ourselves in them. The cornerstone of our pedagogy is based on four pillars: vocational, professional, critical and ethical. Vocational is the basics that has to be mastered, from learning to sew to the laying of the brick, to the software rendering of a light fixture. Professional is the ability to go beyond the basics and address the essential core of design. Critical thinking is the ability to reason and consider a problem from multiple positions, and without anxiety to an end or solution. To understand, analyze, reason, synthesize and reconsider or rethink. And lastly, the ethical is self-evident, growing and an important concern.

Admission process
Online Admission Process for Diploma, UG and PG Courses:
- Step 1 – Apply online (https://swarrnim.nopaperforms.com/)
- Step 2 – Pay Application fee online and submit required documents.
- Step 3 – Appear for Design Aptitude Test in March 2021.
- Step 4 – Shortlisted students will be called for Portfolio Evaluation and Interview.
- Step 5 – Announcements of results & Payment of fee.
Offline Application
Alternatively, interested candidates can visit the University Campus, collect the Application Form and submit it along with necessary documents to the Admissions Office.

Eligibility Criteria / Entry Requirement
- For 3 Year Diploma: 10th Pass
- For 4 Year UG course: 10+2, in any discipline.
- For 5 Year B.Arch: 12th qualified from Science stream from a recognized board with a minimum overall aggregate of 50% & JEE Main (Paper-II) qualified.
- For 2 Year PG Course in Urban Planning: Degree of B.Arch/Civil Enng./Environmental/ Economics, Graduate from a recognized university
- For 12 Months Professional Certificate Program: 10+2 or equivalent
